Galleface green

Stretching for over 500 metres along the Colombo coastline, Galleface green is a 12-acre urban park in the centre of the city. Inaugurated in the year 1859 by Governor Sir Henry George Ward, Galleface green was initially a sports arena that hosted games such as cricket, Polo, football, tennis and rugby while also being used as a venue for horse-back riding and golf. Although in recent times Galleface green is more of a tourist attraction that also attracts many of the locals, making it a very colourful and exciting place to be.

Gangaramaya Temple

Gangaramaya Temple is one of the most important temples in Colombo, Sri Lanka, being a mix of modern architecture and cultural essence. Located on the Beira Lake, it was completed in the late 19th century. The temple is known for its intricate brass carvings, numerous sculptures and some mesmerizing Buddhist art.

Independence Memorial Hall

Independence Memorial Hall (also known as Independence Commemoration Hall) is a national monument in Sri Lanka built for commemoration of the independence of Sri Lanka from the British rule with the restoration of full governing responsibility to a Ceylonese-elected legislature on 4 February 1948. It is located in Independence Square (formerly Torrington Square) in the Cinnamon Gardens, Colombo. It also houses the Independence Memorial Museum.

Royal Colombo Golf Club

Established in the year 1880, the Royal Colombo Golf Club is the oldest golf club in Sri Lanka. located in the capital city of Colombo, also known as the Anderson Golf Course, the club is home to the “Sri Lanka Golf Union. In 1928, his majesty king George V granted the use of the prefix “Royal” to the club and consequently the Colombo Golf Club came to be known as the Royal Colombo Golf Club.
